About CytoTrack Blue

CytoTrack Blue (403/454) from Bio-Rad passively crosses the cell membrane and is hydrolyzed causing it to become fluorescent and retained intracellularly. It then covalently crosslinks with primary amine-containing proteins inside the cell. With each daughter generation, as the cell divides, the intensity of the dye will become half of it's parent, indicating a symmetrical division of the cell and cytoplasm.
